Introduction: In this project I am asked to reflect on what ethics means to me. Not only in my personal life but also in a work setting, and in our society. During our reflection I am asked to give multiple personal examples to support my meaning of ethics. Lastly I will connect the three questions together with a conclusion that I hope will help a reader understand the subject of ethics. Personal: Ethics to me is a value system that each individual upholds due to their own conscience. I believe ethics can be different for each individual person primarily because every person will have their own value system. Although ethics is individualized I believe most people will have the same values. For example if you asked a class full of students if it is okay to cheat on exams almost all of the students would say no. of course there is always that one person who does not follow any ethical guidelines. That person just believes in getting what they want, when they want no matter what the cost. Whether it’s cheating, lying, or even stealing. Personally I believe these types of people simply didn’t get enough love as a child. With that being said, this leads me to believe that ethics originates at childhood. Most people would say it was there parents who taught them what’s right and what’s wrong. Personally for me, I give credit to my church for tea ching me right from wrong.
